While not legal in Egypt enforcement is almost non-existent outside of the major cities as the government considers it to be of considerably low priority. As such, several desert oasis have been turned into extremely popular slave trading centers.
Ood and England both have strict laws against slavery and those caught trading in humans is punished swiftly. However, a flourishing underground trade yet exists in both empires especially for slaves unlucky enough to be particularly attractive.
Venice has very few slaves, however, indentured servitude is rampant there. These servant include both apprentices and those who fall into debt to the islands wealthy traders who treat their servants as slaves and who can legally hold their servants almost indefinitely.
